A Ride into WordCamp Bhopal 2016

The Day started when the attendees reached the registration desk, where they were handed their kits meanwhile the online attendance was being taken, everyone was on their best foot and things at registration went really well with the breakfast being a cherry on top of icing.

The Event took a head start with Puneet Sahalot’s (Founder IdeaBox Creations) Session which was on ‘Introduction to WordPress’, he gave a brief history of how WordPress evolved from a blogging platform to a CMS.

The next session was followed by Aditya Kane (Chief Cultural Officer at Yapapaya) on ‘Why choose a career in open source (WordPress)’ where he talked about ‘What is open-source. OSS impact on the world Free and open web. Why do we need to protect it? Why WordPress GPL, Software as philosophy and career prospects.

The tea break was followed by Swapnil Patil (Organizer WordCamp Pune) giving a brief on ‘How to Translate a WordPress Theme/Plugin’, Nirav Mehta’s (Developer of Plugins) session on ‘Why We Indian Developers Fail; And what you can do about it’ intrigued the attendees, Nirav’s storytelling interaction worked tremendously good .

It has been rightly said, “Hunger makes a thief of any man”. So the Lunch started soon after Nirav’s session, concurrently few had interaction with the sponsors on their separate desk. Our gold sponsors for the event were like JetPack, WooCommerce and rtCamp. Whereas Godaddy Pro, Bluehost, Milesweb were the silver sponsors for the Event. Wpml.com with many others were bronze sponsors.

Soon after everyone was back under the same roof few more sessions were orated, where Amit Singh (Founder and CEO Wpoets) talked about: “Stop coding, Start assembling websites”. This was followed by Alexander Grounder’s (Ink my web) session on ‘The ways of Contributing to WordPress.’

Next speaker of the session was Saurabh Shukla (Chief Strategist at Yapapya and the Chief Mentor at BaapWP.me) and he spoke on Collaboration Oriented Development. The last session was by Rahul Bansal (CEO of rtCamp) on ‘How to build high-quality WordPress agency in Bhopal’. A Panel discussion on “How do WordPress agencies hire” was engaged for creating awareness about how WordPress offers you to see your career in it.

The event ended by a Vote of Thanks to all the Sponsors that helped the WordCamp 2016 come alive, Speakers for being a constant preceptor throughout the journey of WordCamp Bhopal 2016, and also the Organizers, Volunteers, and Attendees for their support in making the event a ‘Grand Success’.

Our Logo – Embodying Bhopal

Not every piece of work is an abstract, but what makes it so is one’s belief to evolve a change.

The statement refers to the dynamic personality of Raja Bhoj, whose name was adopted to notate our city of lakes Bhopal, originally known as Bhojpal. The logo of WordCamp Bhopal constitutes of an emblem of Raja Bhoj, a lake and the sun.

Raja Bhoj, The creator of knowledge banks, the architect of Bhopal of his time and a great demonstrator of expressions of human creativity. His virtue in the emblem of WordCamp Bhopal connotes that, our community is a pool of all those arts man, developers and architects of words. Just like the tall 32 feet statue of Raja Bhoj, the emblem sets off high as 2404 × 2062 pixels, making the whole look and feel stupendous. The lake in logo is the manifest of our community which keeps on growing and generating the ethics of new technical world.

The emblem is a flash of Bhopal which shows its wonderful site keeping us attached with the beauty of city. The sun portends that “Bhopalis” shine in spite of all that comes to them. The logo exhibits the love of city to the lakes and its king.

Bhopal, a saturation of both old and new chattels. The WordCamp Bhopal logo is also a perfect fusion of both venerable lake and the WordPress Bhopal community which will soon come into action. The logo of WordCamp Bhopal is an enumeration of art and lore with a touch of Bhopal’s Love in vim.

Bhopal and WordCamp

The glorious month of September will witness the grand celebration of the WordPress Community Bhopal. WordCamp Bhopal 2016 is going to be the first ever event in the history of Bhopal at such a tremendous level , bringing laurels to the prestige of Bhopal.

WordCamp Bhopal 2016 will be a one of a kind event , organised by some college students who inherits passion for WordPress and a knack for open source.

Bhopal, the startling city

Also called as- The city of lakes, The city of Nawabs and the capital of Madhya Pradesh was originally founded by the 11th century ruler, Raja Bhoj and thus named Bhojpal. The present city was established by an Afgan named Dost Mohammad in 1770s.

The city has religious attractions like ancient temples, old mosques and the the imprints of the patricians of the city. The city has the traces of different primeval cultures from Hindus, Moguls to Buddhists and Afghan. Bhopal comprises of a fascinating blend of a scenic beauty with lakes, museums, statues, parks and resides the headquarters of the state government of Madhya Pradesh.

Major tourist attractions like Kanha Tiger Reserve, Sanchi Stupa, National Museum of Mankind, Moti Mazjid & Jama Mazjid, Bheembetka, Van Vihar are some which you should never miss while you are in Bhopal.
